Lip rings are trend among teenagers. It is their way of expressing their youth eccentricity or wanting to look different and caught everyone’s attention. But not only this category is included, but mature people too recur to lip rings. Some see this is a method of showing their belonging to a sect or the influence of a tribal. As you can see there are different views, but the main thing is that lip rings are much spread.

So, you get in the point of deciding to recur to a lip ring. The procedure is a simple one but the after this period is troublesome. What is all about the after lip ring care? First of all it involves patience and attention to the hygiene.

Patience is requested and as a matter of fact it is the one that gives one confidence. It may sound odd, but considering that the lips after getting a lip ring will not look pretty good patience to pass over this recovery period is essential. First of all, the lips will be swollen for a couple of days. The skin lips are being perforated by the ring so the first reaction is for your body to reject this strange object. But in time this will pass as a way of getting used with it.

Going further, after lip ring care involves some restrictions. Once you have your lips swollen you have to avoid any hot drink and food also. The heat makes your blood accelerate the rhythm and so the inflammation will get a severe form. Not to mention about the excruciating pain and burning sensation. Apart from this, also you must avoid kissing, drinking from bottles, anything than involves touching the lips and harm them.



The risk of lip infections is also high. Maybe you do not know or noticed but the one who put your lip ring may not use sterilized needle or it did not disinfect the area before perforating. This may have serious and severe side effects one you. The proper thing to do is to apply cold compresses or a frozen piece of meat on the lips, in order to avoid any abscess extension. An antibiotic treatment is also helpful but only those with medical prescription, as those taken as hearsay may complicate the situation and have no effect.

To sum up, after lip ring care is all about one’s concern and close attention to every daily thing. Even drinking water directly from a glass can cause you pain. This means that the lips must be protected by any touch and contact with objects, at least for a couple of days. And another thing to remember is not to exaggerate with sedative to ease and calm the pain. Too much means poisoning your body. I am sure you do not want any other medical problems.

    Don’t let this scare you, folks! This is just the negative side of the piercing. It doesn’t take long for it to heal, and it only swells up for a week-at most. Yeah of course, it will be a little painful, and you have to make a few sacrifices for a LITTLE bit, but do what you want!
    The lip has a natural bacteria defense system, so it’s unlikely that your lip will get infected.
    I play with mine ALL the time, i tug and pull and everything, and it STILL doesn’t get infected, just a tad sore. My ears? i sleep and they get infected.
