Almay Hydracolor Lipstick

At this moment Almay is a brand owned by the company called Revlon. It all began in 1931 when Alfred and Fanny May Woititz established it. The reason for creating this company was that Fanny had a very sensitive skin and so her husband, who was a professional chemist, created a line of cosmetics that were hypoallergenic with the help of a dermatologist. The natural ingredients that are used to make these cosmetic include cucumber, soybean, rosehips, licorice and many others. At this moment Almay has products for skincare, eyes, face and lips.



In this article I am going to write about one particular product of the company: Almay Hydracolor lipstick. They come in many shades and colors and I think that they have a fair price. Naturally, as everything in life they have both pros and cons.

The pros would be, that the lipsticks have the right amount of pigment, but even if you find them too pigmented, after you apply it you can dab off a little and apply clear balm on the top. Another pro is that it is very moist when it is applied and it almost feels like a balm, cooling your lips. Another good characteristic of it is that it has an SPF, so it is good to use, especially in the summer, in order to protect your lips from the harmful sunrays.

If something has pro, it must have cons as well. The first con that we can observe it that the lipstick’s tube doesn’t really allow you to see the exact color, so you might have to buy more lipstick in order to find out which one looks good on you. Another con is that it gradually dries up and it becomes heavy. The truth is that it has a smell that makes you think about chemicals. After a while the odor disappears, but sadly so does the color.

I have read several reviews written by real people (it is a well known fact that sometimes companies pay people to write good reviews on the internet as part of their marketing campaign) who really bought the product and there is a debate whether it is worth or not to buy it. Some people are totally satisfied with it while other threw it after the first time they tried it.

At this point I can’t advise you to buy it and I can’t advice you not to buy it. It is all up to you. You should take into consideration both the pros and cons and then make your decision. You also have to keep in mind that the things that I said about Almay Hydracolor lipstick are based on other people’s opinions and experiences and it is not guaranteed that the same thing will happen to you or that you will perceive things in the same manner. I think that you should give it a try, especially if you find this lipstick on sale. I believe that it is worth to spend a few buck if you might find a lipstick that really works for you.
