I am sure that everybody heard about French manicure before, but you should know that there are some other styles as well that you might like, just that these aren’t as popular as the French one. Naturally this might change and I am sure that with it will, because there are more and more people who choose the American manicure over the French one. The French manicure has many advantages, like the fact that it is very elegant and versatile, but still it might be a bit overpowering and so people need something more natural.



Such a manicure style is the American manicure that has been created to look similar as the French one, but there are some differences between the styles. Many people know that the French manicure uses bright white tips and pink base colors. On the other hand the American manicure also uses a pink but this one is a paler one or another neutral color and the tips are polished with an opaque white. In most of the cases, the tips are polished first and then the whole nail is polished with the pink polish or the other color that you have chosen. The process results in a look that is very simple but in the same time it is also glamorous.

There are several ways to get the style. I think that the easiest way is to go to a manicure salon and ask the manicurist to do it for you. You could also do it at home for yourself without any help. Those manicures that are done by professionals cost about $10 for natural nails, and it costs about $30 in case you wish to have acrylic nails. Besides the professional results, most of the American manicure services also include a hand massage.

In case you wish to make the style for yourself it might be a good idea to purchase an American manicure kit that can be found in almost any drugstore or department store. These kits were created to have everything that you might need during a manicure session. Usually they are the same as the ones used at manicure salons. To create the style you will need the following things: polish remover, cotton balls or pads, basic manicure tools, a light pink, beige, nude or other neutral color, an opaque or soft white colored polish, adhesive strips for the smile lines, and base coat and top coat.



To get it started you should make sure that your nails are clean and that there is no trace of the previous polish. You should remove any possible hangnails and then you should shape and file the nails to get the shape and length you wish. Once you are done, you should apply a layer of base coat. After this layer has died apply the nail guides and stick them well. Next polish the tips with the white polish and wait for it to dry. Once the tips have dried remove the nail guides and apply a layer of pink polish over the entire nail.
