Manicure is something that every person is or should be familiar with. Manicure means the cosmetic treatment for fingernails and hands and it can mean the treatment of only the hands or nails or both. It can be done either by you or you could go to a salon or spa and a manicurist will get it done for you.  The word ‘manicure’ has Latin origins and it is derived from the word ‘manus’ (meaning hand) and ‘cure’ (meaning care). If you are looking for another name for manicures then most probably you will find some different types of manicures. They might vary in the usage of creams and oils or other treatments. Some of the various manicure types might be very pampering which is great in case you have tired hands. These manicures are sure to relax the hands and get them in shape.

I think that the first manicure style that anybody would be thinking of is the French manicure. This is a classic style that looks very neat and elegant and although it has a long history, it hasn’t changed much over the decades. It features two colors of polish: a white one for the tips and a pink, nude or beige one for the base color. In the end you will get a manicure that is great for any occasion and there is no way to go wrong with it. You might already know that people are very inventive and they are trying to get the maximum out of things so they are creating variations of the traditional aspect. The same thing happened with the French manicure and today a very popular style is the reverse French manicure. It is just like the traditional version, just that it is the opposite of it. Instead of polishing the tips white, the moon is white and the rest of the nail is polished with another color. You could also create a French manicure that features white nails whit a strip on the tips. The most popular colors for this manicure are black and white in the winter and yellow and pink during the spring and summer.

The paraffin manicure is one of those pampering manicures that I mentioned before that is great for tired hands. The paraffin or heated wax moisturizes the skin and leaves it smooth. Most of the time the manicure also includes hand massage and nail polishing. In some cases oils are used as well, like grape seed oil. The European manicure is one of those simple manicures that feature soaking in a blend of herbs and water, trimming, shaping and nail polishing with the color that you have chosen. Another pampering manicure is the hot stone manicure that means a basic manicure plus the usage of hot stones that are placed on the hands to offer relief and comfort.

I hope that by this time you know about another name for manicures and that you will choose to try these manicures because you actually have nothing to lose.
