Bath Tub Drain

Once you have installed your tub, sink or toilet and you decorated your bath, everything seems to be in order. And after a time period you do not like anymore the way your bathroom looks and you start redecorating. Before doing so, you keep everything clean and your try to maintain your bath as beautiful as possible. But some things are not up to you. So even if you clean your bath as much as you possible can, things can bet broken.





For example, at one moment you will need to change the bath tub drain. When the bath tub drain gets too old, water can make her way below it or water can spill into the crawl space. The first thing you have to do is to remove all the dirt that has been formed underneath the drain and you have to clean that area. Some of the drains types have tub stoppers that had been pre-installed. If this is the case for yours, you should first pop up the stopper and twist to unscrew. Then remove the plate with the trip for the stopper and with much care remove the stopper. If the drain is not broken, but it is only filed with hair or other dirt, clean it and use a bent to be sure that you have done a good job clearing the dirt. The water must be hot, but not boiled to be able to dissolve the formed dirt. However, you must be careful with the water temperature because if the drain is made of a material that can melt very easy you will break it. The drain cleaning can be done using baking soda with vinegar, which combined in water and putted in the drain and helps cleaning.

If the dirt is persistent, you can use some chemicals which can be bought in stores. However, before doing so call a plumber and ask him what products are best to use. If you feel like all this cleaning operation was not very hard for you, you can try also changing the drain, if cleaning is not enough or if it is broken. Anyway, if you think that you may not manage doing all of these things, call your plumber and so you will avoid all the risks.
