Black Nail Polish Manicures

Believe it or not, black nail polish manicures are one of the trendiest ones at the moment. The truth is that for a very long period of time black nail polish has been associated with some subcultures like punk, goth or emo because the people belonging to this subculture often polished their nails red, guys as well as girls. Those times are over and although these people still use black polish other people got more open-minded and they realize tat black is a very versatile color and many very trendy designs might be created using black polish.

The most simple black nail polish manicures is the one that features the whole nail painted black. This isn’t scary at all, contrary to what some people might think, and such manicures can be spotted even on the red carpet. If you feel like doing something more complex then you could paint the whole nail black and then draw some flowers, paws or any other thing that you would like using another color, preferably bright color, or a metallic color to be sure that there will be enough contrast to make the design noticeable. If you don’t have enough talent for a real nail art you could use stickers that usually come in a white color and so you black and white manicure will be suitable no matter what color your clothes have. As a simpler you could also draw some simple lines along the nail, across it or both.

I think that at the moment one of the most fashionable manicure styles is the French manicure and you should know that you can create a French manicure with black polish as well. You could do a simple manicure by painting the tips black and applying a clear coat or you could also apply a pink base and then the black tips. If you are bored with pink, you can use any other color you would like, such as red and the manicure will still look fabulous. You could also do it the other way around: paint a black base and paint the tips with another color.

You can make the manicure even more interesting by drawing a sparkling line at the border where the black and the other color meet. If you feel like you could do more, you should try the French manicure, but instead of a regular tip you could create a V shape at the tips. One of my favorite designs features black V’s and clear top, but at the edge of the V there is a line of sparkling purple. This creates a subtle effect of playfulness, while the rest is very elegant.

Naturally there might be some that require a professional, but most of them are quite easy to do.
