Celebrity Updo Hairstyles

A lot of people when they are looking for new hairstyles or for a hairstyle for a special occasion turn to see what celebrities were having in a similar situation. I think that this thing has both positive and negative sides. People should learn that not everything that celebrities do is OK but, on the other hand they have an army of stylists to tell them what to do and most of the times they get it right. I think that celebrities represent a good source of inspiration, but they don’t have to be copied. Each person should add something from her own style to the hairstyle she has.

In this article I am going to present a few celebrity updo hairstyles and I am also going to tell you how you can get it. The first hairstyle is the one of Jada Pinkett-Smith. At one point she had a voluminous updo that is great in case you have curly hair. To get it started you should tease the hair to create a loose and whispy look that is the basis of this hairstyle. Sweep back the hair using a brush and make sure that there are no bumps in the hair. Then you should select a setion of hair from the side ad create a simple French braid all the way to the ear on the other side (kind of like a braided headband). With a pin secure the braid but you could also use a premade braided headband (still the real one looks more elegant). The rest of the hair should be splitted into three parts and these should be piled on the top of the head. Be sure that you have enough pins at arm length because you will need them to secure the strands. It is best to leave some strands loose at the forehead to create a bit messy look. Use some hairspray for extra hold and also to create natural movement.

Another celebrity that must be kept in mind when talking about celebrity updo hairstyles is Natalie Portman. Along the years she has had many gorgeous hairstyles that are really worth to be copied. The one that I am referring to is a quite easy one and it is great in case you don’t want to spend much time in front of a mirror. The first step is to apply some dry shampoo on the roots of the hair. If you don’t have dry shampoo at home you could also use baking soda or baby powder. You have to rub it in so that it will absorb the oil. The next step is to take a section from the top and tease it from the underside. Once you are ready, create a bun and smooth the top layer. Use some pins to secure the loose ends. Apply some light hold spray for extra hold but be sure not to weight down the top of the hair.

I hope that you will be able to use some of the tips for celebrity updo hairstyles.
