Did you know that Lipstick Jungle is cancelled?

I am sure that there are only a few people in the world who didn’t hear about the well known TV series, Lipstick Jungle. I think it was a very interesting series and it was based on the novel with the same title written by Candace Bushnell.

You should know that she was also one of the executive producers of the show and although it is said that in the beginning the show was create in order to be a substitute for the series Sex and the City, I think they did a pretty good job.

The first episode was aired on 7 February, 2007. According to the plans, the first season was supposed to have 13 episodes, but due to some problems, only seven of them were produced initially. A bit later the company ordered another six episodes, and so the first season really consisted of 13 episodes.

The second season started on 24 September in the same year. NBC observed that the show got low ratings and this is why they aired the last episode of the series on 9 January. There were some rumors according to which the series will not be renewed, but later the company said that there were some possibilities to create another season of the movie.

One month later it still looked like there were some chances for the show, but a bit later it got officially canceled. It was said that although one of the stars already got a new role in another movie, she would return to Lipstick Jungle if necessary, but it wasn’t the case.

Although Lipstick Jungle is cancelled we still remember the stars it had: Brooke Shields, Kim Raver, and Lindsay Price. The series presented the life of three successful women living in New York.

We all know that the official nickname of New York is Concrete Jungle and this is what the title of the series refers to. The series presents the struggles of three friends to find the balance between their professional and their personal lives while they have to face a lot of problems including lies, cheating, fights and everything else that life has prepared for all of us.

In case you liked the previous show, Sex and the City, I am sure that you would enjoy this show as well, because it has a similar topic, but it present things from another  point of view and so it brings something new to the palette of TV shows. The truth is that I am really sorry that NBC decided to cancel it because I am sure that there would have been a lot of interesting things and intrigues to find out about regarding the characters of the show.
