I think that we all may have experience at least once that a new line of lipsticks appeared with great colors among which you have found the perfect one. Everything was fine until one day, when you could not find your favorite lipstick anymore. You might have tried to buy it from other shops as well but they didn’t have it either. Some costumers got very upset because of such situations and they contacted the producer to ask what has happened.
The answer is very simple. There are some companies that follow a policy according to which they produce only those products that are ‘hot’ and trendy. After a while they go on producing another line, so there are products that were produced only during one season. This policy might look a bit stupid from the point of view if costumers, but if you come to think of it, it kind of makes sense.
This way these companies build a reputation according to which they produce only fashionable cosmetics (in our case lipsticks) and this image creates a false image in the mind of the costumers. They might think that every lipstick that the producer has produced is trendy, so they tend to buy those instead of lipsticks produced by another company that produces some lipsticks that are already considered to be old-fashioned.
Thus companies can exclude having big stocks of cosmetics that they simply can’t sell. They say that it is worth to have some unhappy costumers if they can maximize their profit by selling everything they produce. Anyway at some point the costumers will find some other lipstick and because their reputation it is very possible that they will buy one of their other lipsticks.
On the other hand costumers really don’t have anything else left to do but to look for another lipstick that has a similar shade with the one that was discontinued. Before giving up all hope of finding discontinued lipstick colors you should try to find it online. The first site you should visit is the official website of the manufacturer, Maybe they still have lipsticks on stock that you can buy online.
If they don’t have it anymore you should try other sites, like eBay. When buying cosmetics from such sites make sure that the product is still new by checking that it still is in its original package. If you haven’t found it yet you should try the sites of retail outlets, they might still have it on stock. Even if you can’t buy online, you might find some stores that still have it.

If none of these methods have given the wanted results. You should try to find a similar product. Most manufacturers have lipsticks the shade if which is very alike. You might not like the idea of a substitute at the beginning, but in the end you might end up loving your new lipstick. I hope that this information was useful to you regarding discontinued lipstick colors.
