Lip tattoos are a useful technique in beauty domain. It helps women to define their facial features. And the effect is a natural one but at the same time, the color of the lips look like a professional make up.

This procedure is of two categories: permanent and semi permanent. Depending on everyone’s wish or budget one can recur to one of these types. The result is the same but the difference is made by the time they last. Now one may wonder: do lip tattoos fade off?

First of all, lips tattoo means perforating the first layers of cutis or the deeper layers, depending on the type of tattoo, and imbue with color. The pigments will remain for ever but because of some factors they will vanish in time. But vanishing means more like loosing the living color. It also depends on the type of tattoo and type of skin. Usually it will last from 3 to 5 years and for a semi permanent one 1 to 2 years.

No lip tattoo will fade off but it is up to you to care for it. There are some suggestions coming from specialists in this domain. The first aspect is related to the colors one chooses for the tattoo. If it is a natural one, a light one it will fade off sooner than in case of a dark color. Apart from this, lip tattoos are of two categories: the line contour and the whole inside lip tattoo. And for the first category the colors is bound to fade off sooner.

Beside this, once you had a lip tattoo you have to care for your lips. As in case of daily care for them one has to hydrate them daily, to use balms and avoid much sun exposure.

The very important part to be mentioned and remembered is that lip tattoos fade off in time but they do not disappear totally. The procedure is redone when the color is clearly not as obvious as at the beginning. The investment is not so bug as it takes years for a tattoo to loose its intensity.

Consequently, lips tattoos fade off as it is a natural and normal effect. The skin is used to absorb the pigments. But this aspect is connected to several others aspects. A semi permanent lip tattoo means less perforation to the skin. As I was saying only the first layers of skin are colored, so that the color will last less. For a permanent one the color penetrates the lower parts of derm so that the colors are better fixed. Of course, it is a more complicated procedure with more pain but it is done under anesthesia. So that the prices vary also. From 200 € to 400 €.

All things considered, lips tattoo can loose their effect and intensity but and I may accentuate the but, in time, after at least 2 years before the procedure is done. So, do not worry as your look will maintain its freshness a long time.
