Fingernails are a part of your body that one most certainly does not provide the suitable attention. There is no need to take further look into them as they say that fingernails are dead organism. If one has not learned so far, they actually are not dead organisms, they are as alive as they can possibly be.

Humans are not the only ones that have fingernails, and that was demonstrated a few ages ago, when animals had horns, some have claws, and some primates, even have nails. No matter what you call them, whether one may be wondering of what material are fingernails made of, one will see that the material that they are made of is keratin. Keratin is a very strong protein that represents as well, the thing that the hair and the teeth are made of.

While what we call “fingernail” is the mere keratin look, of what material are fingernails made of, one must know that there is more to the fingernails than the sizeable part. The sizeable part represents just the fingernail plate. There are various parts that the fingernails are made of, there is the nail matrix, the lunula, the nail bed, the nail sinus, the nail root, the nail plate, the nail wall, eponychium, perionyx, nail groove, lateral margin.

Each one of the fingernail components that have been mentioned above have their special place in the fingernail healthy growth. Apart from the aesthetics part of the fingernails, they as well have a protective role. They protect one from getting infected and from getting in direct contact with the nail bed. What provokes the fingernail growth is the nail matrix, which is bound to the blood vessels. The blood vessels are the ones that maintain the fingernail alive. From the connection with the blood vessels, the fingernail plate takes its good looking pinkish color and as well takes the appropriate and the needing nourishment, which helps the fingernail grow nicely.

The growth of a fingernail is determined by various factors, but a contact fingernail growth is around 3 mm per month which signifies that if your fingernail falls off for good, it will take around three to six month to fully grow back on. There are a lot of factors that the fingernail growth depend on, there is the climate, the age, the gender, the season, the exercise level, the diet one eats, as well as there are the hereditary factors that have effect on the fingernails growth. As the fingernail does not grow if it is not strictly connected to the blood vessels that provoke this growth, one must know that the fingernails do not continue growing after dying. Some may think this as they may seem bigger, but they seem bigger as the skin dehydrates and they therefore remain there, but at the same length they used to be.

In order to have good looking and healthy fingernails it is not sufficient to maintain a proper diet but as well o takes proper care of the fingernails. Therefore, one must take two time s a week and look into the fingernails and moisturize them, trim the, file them buff them once a month, put them into a solution for whitening and as well treat them with some cuticle oil.

You cannot expect to have beautiful healthy fingernails and do nothing to get to this result. Like in the case of your hair, as with aging it splits and becomes less powerful and must be treated, this is the same thing. But it is about fingernails.

Well, my fingernails break all the time. It is awful. My mother says it’s because my body lacks calcium because I don’t drink any meal so my only source of calcium is actually fruit yogurt. I have tries several nail product but nothing does the job and my fingernails will exfoliate and break all the time. I also have small hands and with no fingernails, it looks awful. It’s frustrating being 18 and not having beautiful hands. Any advice? Thanks.
