When you first read the title of this article, you probably wonder what is a bath house for men. If you read this article you will certainly find out interesting things. A bath house for men, also knows as gay sauna, steam baths is a commercial bath house with a special utilization, meaning for men to have sex with other men.

Even if, homosexuality still remains a tabu subject in many countries and people who are gay are marginalized by straight people, the homosexuality exists and it will exist even if many people don’t agree. From my point of view, every person in this Earth is born free and this is how he / she should remain until the last days of life. There for everybody should be free to do whatever he / she wants as long as his / her actions don’t harm in any way the safety, the integrity and the morality of other people. Whatever anyone does with his personal life, whatever religion, whatever sexual orientation has, whatever personal affinities has, whatever music listens is each and every person’s  business. The gay people are normal people, just like we are, probably we might not even know that they have other sexual orientation and accept them as friends and when this secret is reveled, the relationship might end, even if until that moment the friendship was ok.

The religion doesn’t accept gay people, God created the man and the woman to be together and to perpetuate the human specie on Earth. Two persons of the same gender cannot naturally conceive a child and to perpetuate the human specie. They consider this thing immoral, abnormal, unnatural, against all beliefs, etc.

This is a very controversial subject, because on one side is unnatural for two people with the same gender to live like a couple, on the other side everybody is free to do whatever he / she pleases. What do you think? Do you think that anybody has the right to intervene in the personal live of someone else? Probably does, probably doesn’t I honestly don’t know.


The houses aren’t visited only by gay men, occasionally people with normal sexual behavior visit the bath houses for relaxation. Bath houses are specially created for men, but sometimes, in some bath houses the lesbians have access and are organized “women only” nights especially for them.

The men bath houses come in different sizes and offer different facilities. There are big bath houses that have a multitude of amenities, like: storey saunas, a large variety sizes and styles of the rooms, steam baths, swimming pools, jacuzzi.

The usual amenities that the normal bath houses offer are a steam room, dry sauna, small private rooms, showers and lockers.

The bath houses are free to establish his own rules, but the majority of the gay bath houses are membership only. In those types of bath houses the membership pay for the facilities that the bath house has to offer, not for the sexual activity that may or may not occur. The sexual activities happen between customers, it is not provided by the staff of the establishment. Many bath houses discourage the male prostitution and forbid known male who practice prostitution to attend the bath house.

The historic records reveal the fact that the gay bath houses existed since the 6^th century BC in Greece. In the West, the bath houses have been used to have homosexual sexual activities in the 19^th and 20^th century.
