Information on how to manicure

Most people know a lot about manicures, but still there are some others that would like to find out more about it and they would like to learn how to manicure.

In this article I am going to tell you about how to do a good manicure, but you should know that the manicure that I am going to write about is a pretty basic one. The advantage is that almost anybody can do such a manicure and it doesn’t take much time, contrary to what some people might think.

In case you wish to do your own manicure, there are some things tools and supplies that you might need: cotton balls, nail polish remover, bowl, warm water, scissor, clipper, nail file, emery board, cuticle remover, cuticle pusher, orange stick, hand cream or lotion, nail buffer, towel, base coat, top coat, nail polish and maybe some nail jewelry or stickers. Naturally you don’t need all of these, if you use a nail file than you don’t need an emery board and so on.

The first thing you should do is to wash your hands thoroughly and dry them. Then you should moisten a cotton ball with nail polish remover and remove any trace of nail polish from the previous manicure you had. Once you’re done you should pour warm water into the bowl and soak your hands for a few minutes.

Then dry them thoroughly and in case the nails are too long to be filed you should cut them or clip them to have the desired length. Then you should file the nails with a nail file o with the help of an emery board. This way you can get rid of the scratchy edges and you can give the nails the shape you want. There are several options to choose from: oval, square, round, pointy or squoval. You should remember to file the nail only in one direction, avoiding the sawing like motion.

Once you are done you should treat the cuticles. Apply the cuticle remover and then gently push the cuticles with the help of a cuticle pusher or an orange stick. Some professionals say that the cuticle s should be nipped only in extreme cases. When you are done with the cuticles you could move on to the polishing. First remember to apply a base coat. This protects the nails and it offers better adherence to the nail polish.

Once it has dried you should apply a layer of nail polish and let it dry. In case you wish to apply more layers it is best to wait for each of them to dry. In the end you should apply a layer of top oat to protect the manicure. To have a long lasting manicure you should apply a layer of top coat on a daily basis.
