Is Hannah Montana a lip singer?

Nobody denies Miley Cyrus’s skills as a singer, but what about Hannah Montana, the character she interprets in the Disney Channel hit series Hannah Montana? Miley Cyrus is a Golden Globe and Critic’s Choice Award nominated American singer, actress and author. She is better known for starring as Miley Stewart/ Hannah Montana in the Hannah Montana series. Hannah Montana is a popular character loved by everybody. At only 16 years old she has managed to become a star.

As all of the singers who film, we can say that Hannah Montana is a lip singer and not because she wants to do this but because she has to do this. She can’t have a live performance while she is filming a scene from her movie and that’s why the producer prefers to lip synch. It’s their best option. She isn’t the only one who does this; many of the singer-actresses do this. They do this in order to protect their voices. They have to film many hours and because of this she must do lip synch. She can’t learn all her lines, be able to perform and live sing in the same time, it’s quite difficult to do this.

But what about her concerts? Well, like all the international shows, Hannah Montana show is a very important one with a band and dancers, and usually not all the singers can have a 100%live performance. That’s quite impossible, because it implies a double effort. Miley Cyrus was caught during her best selling “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus ’Best of Both Worlds” using another girl dressed like the character ”Hannah” in the same pink trench coat with blonde hair. She was dancing while she was covering her face. She was pretending to be singing while Miley’s vocals play on and later disappeared offstage towards the end of the song. Neither Miley of the girl who pretend was Hannah returned.

Miley’s manager said that she needed that character in order to help the speed of transition from Hannah to Miley. Other than this brief moment in the show, Miley performs live both as Hannah and Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus is one of the most talented young singers who really have what to show to the world. Besides these moments there aren’t other important moments when she is lip singing.

The answer to the question: is Hannah Montana a lip singer is yes and not because she wants to do this or because she doesn’t have skills as a singer, but because sometimes she has to do this. If she was obliged to do lip singing that doesn’t make her less singer or less talented. She is what she is and everybody knows she can really sing, she doesn’t need to lip synch.
