Lip Implants
We live in a perfect world, so that’s way everybody wants to be perfect, starting with the breasts, face, teeth, lips, tummy and ending with legs and nails.
During years many specialists improved different techniques for the enhancement of the human body.
The first attempt of beauty augmentation probably started from Cleopatra, who used red color for her lips. From the desire to improve the beauty of the face and the body determined the doctors to use silicone. Lately some new materials were introduced for improving safety in lip implants. Materials such as: collagen (bovine), Gore-Tex, calcium hydroxyapatite, hyaluronic acids, and acellular human matrix. I am sure that one of the future methods is going to be injectable materials because more and more of these are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

If you are not decided to go for a permanent implant you could try a temporary one to see if you like it. For a temporary augmentation surgeons use bovine or human collagen. This method requires some tests to see whether the patient is compatible or not with the substance.
Some new products contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a biodegradable and natural substance that exists in our body and can be used to give volume. In this case no test is requested. The differences between collagen and hyaluronic acid are that the last one resist longer but is firmer than the other.
V-Y plasty can be used for the upper lip, lower lip or both lips and it is a great choice with or without an implant, but the results can sometimes be poor.
Some candidates cannot have the results desired by any of the above methods. For them some alternative and long lasting options have been developed. Such options include tattooing or even extending the pigment. Should you want your own lips to just look better you can use laser surgery or chemical peels to improve the quality of your skin.
When you decide to go for a permanent implant you should seriously think about the consequences. Also take into consideration the best available clinics and doctors so as the results are the ones desired. You should also check with other people to see the effects.

Usually the recovery time is about 1-2 days after an injection but bruising and swelling may last almost a week.
Like any other surgical procedure it is possible to bleed, infect, react different to the anesthesia, to heal slower or other unexpected results. The implant material may change the position and that’s why it may appear asymmetrical lips. Few allergic reactions are itching, pain and redness.
The body reacts different from one people to another. So any substance it might look foreign for the body and could reject or infect the implant.
The costs for lip implants are between $300 and $5000.
My advice is to think twice before you go for such an important step.
