Lip piercing care

Piercing is fashionable and attracts everyone’s eye. In fact this is the aim: to be distinctive but in a good way, with a beautiful and stylish ring. Many people choose to have a piercing in their belly as a method of putting value on this part of their body, in the eyebrow to accentuate the eyes but lip piercing is also a preferential one.

Lip piercing is the most risky one, as lips are highly sensitive. The area where the piercing is placed is surrounded by blood vessels and nerves, so there is the risk to sting one of these. In the first faze of lip piercing care one has to take care of the swelling aspect. The lips are perforated in order to instill the ring, so that it becomes like an open wound. A strange object appears and so the first reaction of your body is to reject it. But swollen lips should be a real concern only if persists even after a week. Till then it is indicated to apply cold compresses, to avoid any extinction. If it does not help at all, antibiotics are your solution.

Besides this, the care for your newly pierced lips involves attention to hygiene. As I was saying above there is an open wound and germ can appear easily. Needles to mention this will cause you a severe infection and so, you need to keep clean the area. Disinfect it using iodine.

Furthermore, there are nowadays a wide range of cosmetic products special indicated for the after piercing. Their aim is to moisturize your lip skin. This is essential. In the first days, one will not be able to drink and eat properly as there is a smarting pain and swollen lips. Consequently, a daily lip care procedure to hydrate it and moisturize will not be possible. But you have to make it somehow, in order to avoid crust appearance, skin peeling and so, complications. Use special ointments by gentle touching the area.

Last, but not least, be reserved regarding spiced food, hot drinks and others usual gestures. Let the skin regenerate and your lips accommodate with the ring in. it is a matter of time but patience is a must.
