Lipstick Alley

If you spend much time in front of the computer or if you use the internet a lot you might have come over a website called lipstickalley.com. This site is a forum or a board where people can discuss about lipstick mainly (as the name suggests) but there are many other things that they can talk about for example gossip, celebrities and so on. I think I can say that mostly girls and women are interested in such topics but I don’t believe that if boys or men have to say something meaningful about one of these themes they can’t express their thoughts, opinions or experiences.
In order to be able to post it might be needed for you to register, but I don’t think that it can be a problem since it only takes a couple of minutes. When you access the site you will see buttons that have a name that make a reference to the next page’s content. These are Confessions, Blogs, Arcade, p3tz, LSA Mart, VBookie, AlleyTube, AlleyChat, AlleyXtras, Groups, Search and Quick Links.
In order to access these sections you need to register and to log in but those who visit this website regularly claim that it is worth to be part of such a community. I have seen some unofficial statistics made by a website and they refer to the number of posts on different forums. According to these statistics Lipstick Alley is ranked 520 and at the moment when the statistics were made the site had 3674568 posts. I am sure that by the time you read my article the numbers will have already changed, but still if you come to think to the fact that it has so many posts and it is only the 520th how many posts could the 1st one have?
Those who are not used to posting often wonder why other peoples do it. The answer is simple: it is just like any other normal interaction only it takes longer to get any sort of feed-back or reaction from the others. The point is to share thoughts, opinions, experiences and tips on various topics that are popular among people.
My personal opinion is that it is very good that these sites were created because this way information can flow more easily and freely and this way even those people can share things, which live thousands of miles away and it is almost certain that they will never meet personally. I think that it is very easy to learn these days and I am not talking about learning in the academic way but we can learn everyday things as well, for example what lipstick to buy, and which one not to buy.

Although Lipstick Alley might be very useful let’s not forget that if people say something that doesn’t mean that they are necessarily right or if something has happened to somebody, the same thing will happen to us as well. These are just some indicators that are good to be taken into consideration.
