Clip art or clipart is an expression that is used more and more frequently in our days because computers are becoming a major part of our lives and there are already some people who can’t imagine their life without them. The definition of clipart might sound something like this: clipart is a part of graphic arts and they are some pre-made graphics that illustrate a wide range of things.

Most of the times they are divided according to the topic they represent. They are used by a big variety of people, both in a professional medium and a personal one. People can use them to create homemade greeting cards or they can be used on objects created with commercial purposes. These clip arts come I many forms, but most of the time they are used in electronic formats.

I believe that everybody has seen such things before, since most of the programs have their own clip arts that can be used in texts or images. Most of the times they are purely illustrations without using photographic elements. They actually drawings that remind most people of cartoons.

There are many people who use them, but they have never thought about its origins. The name ‘clip art’ already suggests where they come from. In the beginning they were really clipped out of printed materials. Usu7ally they were used in advertising material. The workers glued the cut out parts on a cardboard in a manner to represent the idea they were trying to communicate to those who saw the material. Later with the evolution of technology it has become a lot simpler and today we don’t need scissors or glue to create something using clip art.

I have already mentioned that there are many topics that have clip arts created, such as animals, sports, family, holidays and anything else you can think of. Naturally there are the ones that are related to beauty and makeup. Lipstick has been a cosmetic that has always been an interesting topic for people and maybe that is why there are so many clip arts relate to it. As I have mentioned before if you need a lipstick clip art you could use those that come with certain graphical or text editing programs.

If you would like something special there re thousands of clip arts on the internet, but you must know that for most of them you have to pay, because somebody had to work a lot on them so they have the form you see and like so much. Still there are some websites that offer lipstick clip arts for free, but these are quite few. Depending on what you need the clip art for. Sometimes it is worth to pay a small amount of money to have the perfect clip art in order to be able to create the perfect greeting card, for example. The clip arts are very easy to use. Anybody who has some basic knowledge of computer usage can manage to manipulate clip arts the way he or she wants.
