Today’s people are used to the fact that we can buy whatever we want, no matter how unusual that thing is. If we can’t buy it personally, the first thing we do is to surf on the internet. I think that the two most well-known websites regarding online shopping are Amazon and eBay.



I was curious whether one can buy online lipstick holders. Naturally I started my search on eBay and, to be honest, I was amazed of how many offers there are for those who are looking for lipstick holders with mirror on eBay. The thing that surprised me the most was that most of these lipstick holders were vintage lipstick holders. It made me realize that there are some people out there who are collecting such items.



Most of these vintage lipstick holders with mirror are made of gold metal. The more simple ones only have patterns made of metal on them; others might have semi-precious gems such as amber. There was one lipstick holder with mirror on eBay that caught my attention. It was made in the mid 1950’s and it didn’t really look like all the others. Most of these holders can hold only one lipstick and have a small mirror on them, but this one was different. It was bigger than the others with a big mirror in the center.

Around the mirror there were holes in the support, which were made so lipsticks can be put there. It could hold six lipsticks and the interesting thing was that there were holes even behind the mirror. I think it must have been quite uncomfortable too reach those. Another interesting thing to find was a lipstick holder produced by Max Factor. I never thought that a few decades ago Max Factor produced such things. Now that I come to think of it, it perfectly makes sense, since these lipstick holders were very fashionable at that time.

There are other types of holders as well, that aren’t exclusively made of metal, but other materials as well. Most of these have some type of pattern painted on them, usually flowers.Another category of lipstick holders that I have found are those of the shape of dolls. These have big skirts and the holes for the lipsticks are made into the skirts. If there are no lipsticks the holder looks like a usual little statue. The only deficiency they have is the lack of mirrors.



I must say that there aren’t only vintage lipstick holders but more modern ones as well. I have found lipstick cases made of silk in different colors and with different patterns, so that everybody finds one she likes. The price of these lipstick holders with mirror on eBay varies between $10 and $75. No matter how big your budget is, you sure will find something you can afford and while searching I have realized that if you do not intend to collect lipstick holders, you can buy them as presents as well for your wife, mother, friend or any other female acquaintance.
