I am sure that you have heard a lot of things about manicure pedicure but I think there still might be some aspects that you don’t know of. I will try to tell you about them from various points of view to give you a full image and so you will know what’s what.

Firstly you should know that there are two main methods that you can get your nails taken care of: do it for yourself and to go to a nail salon. Both of them have pros and cons: at the nail salon you might have to wait, you have to get an appointment at most of the places, you have to pay a quite large sum of money for the services, and there is always a possibility that you might get an infection or other type of illness because the instruments are not sanitized well enough. On the other hand the salons provide you with professional services, that means that you don’t have to spend a lot of time at the salon and you will have perfect nails. In the case of home manicuring the downside is that you might not make the perfect manicure because you don’t have that much experience, you might make a mess, you have to buy every tool and you have to do some preparations. The upside is that you can do your nails anytime you want, you can use your own tolls, so there is no possibility o an infection, you can do things as you like in the comfort of your own home.


The costs also vary in the case of home manicuring and nail salons. Usually if you choose to get your nails done at home you will have to spend less money because although you have to buy some things, you will use them for a long period of time. In the case of nail salons that prices vary between $10 for a service and several hundreds of dollars. You should also know that the pedicures are usually more expensive than the manicures.

If you choose to go to a nail salon there are some types of services that you can get: regular manicure pedicure, spa manicure pedicure, express manicure pedicure and most places have their own signature services. You could also get ‘services’ at home if you decide that you want something special and instead of a quick manicure you take the time to give yourself a massage and to use lotion or cream. Soaking might also be a very good idea and you could wrap your hands in hot towel.


These are some aspects of manicure pedicure that you should know about and you should also know that home manicuring and going to a nail salon don’t exclude each other, you can do them both. At home you could make some touch-ups between visits to the salon, or you could go to the salon on special occasions and do your own nails in the rest of the cases.
