You might not know this but manicure and pedicure aren’t things that people learn to do by watching others. Over the years they have become kind of science and many researches have been made about this topic. Most people don’t think that it is important to do it the right way and they don’t know that it might be dangerous if the manicure and pedicure isn’t done properly. You might have heard about the viruses, bacteria and fungi that can be contacted during manicure and pedicure and infections might appear.

You might think that the manicurists you visit have an easy job and they don’t have to be prepared but the truth is that they receive special training and you would be amazed how many things they know that you never knew about. They must know about every layer of skin, every part of the nail and so on. Those who are real professionals have read much manicure, pedicure books to gain more knowledge and they read specialized magazines to find out about the newest findings and especially the newest trends.

You could also become an amateur manicurist if you read manicure, pedicure books. There are some books that serve as guides to creating the perfect manicure and to learn the correct method of getting your nails done takes more time then you can imagine but I think that it is worth the while because in the end you will be able to do your own nails and if you choose to go to a nail salon you will see if there is something wrong or if the manicurist doesn’t do something right. This might serve your own safety

Even if you don’t become a professional it is better to know a little about the thing that you let others do for you because there are some cases that the person working for you doesn’t really care about the consequences, they just want to get it over with and to get paid.

The books I am talking about weren’t written only for professionals; there is nothing that you can’t understand about them and so you couldn’t consider wasting your time to read a manicure, pedicure book. You can purchase these books online as well if you don’t find them at your local book store. The ones that I could recommend are ‘Manicure, Pedicure and Advanced Nail Techniques’ by Elaine Almond, ‘Nail Structure and Product Chemistry’ by Douglas Schoon and ‘A Complete Guide to Manicure & Pedicure’ written by Leigh Toselli.

I hope that by reading this article will make you wish you knew more about nail care and maybe it will determine you to read such a book. You don’t have to think about it as something mandatory; you should do it for fun because that way it would be easier to finish the book. The books that I have mentioned are only some examples; there are many other that are worth to be read and the truth is I couldn’t tell you which the best is.
