Nars is a Finnish company that produces cosmetics and skin care products and it has been founded by Francois Nars who was a makeup artist and a photographer in the same time. The story began with twelve lipsticks sold at Barneys New York. Since then they created several multi-use products, always trying to use minimalist packaging that has become the symbol of the modern era.
Most of the products have provocative names like ‘Orgasm’, Deep Throat’, ‘Striptease’ or ‘Sex Machine’. The popularity of the products may be due to the names, but we know for sure that they are very much appreciated by the customers. For example the ‘Orgasm’ blush has been considered to be the best in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
The company has a lot of products designed for the lips, such as lip pencil, lip gloss, lip stain gloss, lip lacquer, lip liner pencil and lip balm. The Nars lipstick is another popular product that has been awarded with the 2009 InStyle Best Beauty Buy Award. The lipsticks have a wide range of color, each one having captivating names and rich color.
Nars lipstick is available in three forms: there are so called ‘fashionable colors’ that come in three textures, those that are very longwearing, meaning that the color doesn’t fade, and those that are said to be nourishing and non-drying, containing vitamin E. The advertisements of the products say that once you try out these lipsticks, you will never want to wear any other product.
The ‘Satin’ lipsticks are said to have micro-bubble spheres that successively release lip conditioners that have a nice and vivid color to stop your lipstick’s color from fading. This technique allows the lipstick to stay on for so many hours. This lipstick comes in 11 different shades that are worth to try.
Another Nars lipstick is the semi-matte one that, as the name already suggests, is matte and has a full-bodied and velvety finish thanks to the non-drying formula. If you prefer matte colors over those that have more shine than this might be the one for you. These lipsticks come in18 colors, so you have a wide variety to choose from.
The lipstick line called Sheer has color pigments that make it possible for the lipstick to stay on for a long period of time. The pigments are suspended in a translucent formula that gives a shine to the colors but in the same time it preserves the natural look of the lips. This line has 18 shades as well so no matter what your preferences might be, I am sure you will find at least one that you will like. The Nars lipsticks have been recognized for their quality and only high-en department stores have them. It is interesting to know that this is one of the favorite brands of Madonna and Victoria Beckham. You don’t have to be a star to get one of these lipsticks, but I have to say that the price of them is quite high, at about $25.
