Swollen Lower Lip

If your lips don’t look as natural as they always do, it means you may have a problem with the skin. So, if you feel uncomfortable when you touch your lips, or you have strange sensations, like itches, tingles or burns, you should think about the probable causes of the sensation, like a spicy or too hot meal, or a new lipstick, and then you should see a doctor.
Swollen lower lip usually appears when somebody has a sensitive lip skin and it reacts very fast to any agent from the outside. So, if you have this type of skin you may get a swollen lower lip as a reaction to dust, smoke or wind, but it is not such a big problem if you know you have these types of allergies. It is worse if you didn’t knew before that you are allergic, because, without wanting, you may not know that your problem is a little bit more serious than you thought it is.

Another thing that can cause you a swollen lower lip is a well-known virus called “herpes”, which has an evolution of one-two weeks and the process brings changes of aspect for the lip or the place where it appeared.
The herpes looks very much with the Shingles, because both of the skin affection begin with tingles, then the place gets swollen and some blisters appear on the infected place, then a crust starts to appear when the blisters broke. Be careful because in this moment the liquid from the blisters it is also very contagious and can infect the people who get it contact with it.
The lips got swollen also when you get an augmentation lip procedure, when the doctor injects you in the lips botox or hyaluron to increase the volume of your lips. Few days after the procedure, the lips got bigger than it should be, because the tissue tries to get rid of the new unwanted substance you introduced. Then the body gets used to it and the lips got a more natural aspect, because the substance is setting better in lips.

If you have sensitive lip skin, be very careful to the lip products you use, because one of them can have in its composition some substances which can cause you allergies or other reactions. To avoid this, you have to find out from the ingredients if there is one that you know it can harm you, and try to find those products which have included in their composition natural elements, like Aloe Vera, jojoba oil, and so on.
If you bought a lipstick or gloss with a volumizing effect, then it is normal that the lips get a little bit swollen, because this is its purpose: to make your lips a little bit bigger.
