Vertical Ridges In Fingernails

Fingernails have always been looked at a very important part of our body. this is not only due to the effect they actually provide, to the thing that they offer you an entire new look in accordance to how you have them made, but the importance that the nails have is given by the protective role they have.

Most of the times, one does not realize this but just when something happens to the fingernails and one sees that it is more difficult to get around with. Moreover, fingernails are a mirror to our health. Since the time of Hippocrates it is widely known that fingernails let us know what is happening inside our body. They offer us the possibility of seeing and seizing faster any disorder we may be suffering from. this may make us get rid of a lot of unwanted situations, such as a very bad disease.

Some of the fingernails symptoms, may even announce a heart failure, or melanoma, a skin cancer disease. These are the times, when one is grateful for having fingernails and for providing them with the proper importance. What about other slight fingernails disorders? what do they announce? Factors that lead to fingernail disorders are various, and they both depend on us and do not depend on us. However, whichever may be the case, we must do anything in our power so that the fingernails remain as healthy as possible.

One very common fingernail disorder is the vertical ridges in fingernails. How are they characterized? Vertical ridges can be characterized by a thin line that goes from the bottom of the nail plate all the way up to the top. This usually appears as a result of fingernail plate dryness. as long as the fingernails do not have sufficient oil nutrients to carry for them, as long as they are constantly put in the situation of having to do with chemicals, wet environment, cold environment, wind, too much nail polish, nail polish remover based on acetone, they will somehow, get vertical ridges in fingernails on them.



All these factors mentioned above can be prevented, therefore one can stop using too much nail and teh nail polish remover should be one that does not contain acetone; one should try and protect teh fingernails while going around chemicals, by wearing some protective gloves; one should moisturize his hands with a hand and nail cream each time one washes the hands and as well every night at bed time; if this is not enough, an almond oil or olive oil is necessary to be put on the fingernails, so that they are nourished.

What about the other causes that lead to these vertical ridges in fingernails? Such as the aging process? Does it have any solution or one should just let them nbe in case this is the case? As far as this process concerns, every one of us grows old but the signs that the aging process has upon us can be kept under control, by proper diet, proper fingernail care etc. There is no suhc thing as one does not have any solution to appeal to.

Anyhow, as these are the most common reasons, there are as well some internal problems that can lead to fingernail vertical ridges, but one must consult the specialist if this is the case. If one starts a treatment for the fingernails ridges, one must be aware of the fact that they should start healing after three to six months time. if nothing happiness till then, it means that teh problem goes deeper than external factor.

It is not a good thing to leave them untreated as they will catch to become worse and eventually they will lead to fingernail fall off.
