What are the French manicure colors?

Although French manicures have been around for a very long period of time, they are still considered to be one of the most fashionable and elegant styles possible.

The greatest advantage of the style is its versatility meaning that there are a lot of ways to change it, but the style remains the same. In this article I am going to tell you about the most popular colors used to create the style, but you should know that there is only one rule when it comes to French manicures and the rest is up to your creativity.

The one single rule that I have mentioned before refers to the fact that the tips and the nail bed should have different colors, and all the rest is optional. The traditional French manicure, as most people imagine it, involves using a light base color. This color might be pink, nude or beige.

It is up to you to choose. Most women choose based on the skin tone they have, to achieve a natural look. Usually the tips are polished white. Although it might seem that there aren’t many options to choose from, you should know that there are numerous types of white.

As I have mentioned using these colors you will achieve the traditional and conventional French manicure, but you could also use other French manicure colors as well, and at this point there are no limits. You can start combining and mixing colors and you could create different styles.

If you choose pastel colors then you will get an elegant manicure, while if you choose neon colors, you will get a manicure that is definitely funky. There are some color combinations that are well known and among them is the black and white one. You can polish the tips white and the base black, or the other way round: the base white and the tips black. The look that you will get isn’t natural at all but you are sure that make your manicure observed.

You could also use the red and white combination. This one is also widespread and there was a time in the past when women really liked this combination. This does not mean that the style is old – fashioned. The French manicure is an evergreen style, but there are some trends regarding the colors. For example in our days it is very fashionable to use the black color and this is why there are so many French manicures with black.

As I said, you can use any color that you like, but my advice is to use the same types of nail polishes. I mean that in case you use a metallic color for the tips, it might be a good idea to use another metallic color for the base as well, unless you use white or black. This will show the people around you that you have good tastes and that you know a little something about French manicure colors; nobody demands you to a professional.
