What to know about manicure instruments

Most people know that one can’t do a good job if he or she doesn’t have good tools. This is true for manicure as well and this why it is important to have good manicure instruments .

There are many instruments and tools that you should know about, but an average person uses only a small fraction of them, the most basic ones. You don’t need very special instruments to get the job done. If you know your way around them and you know how to use them in the most efficient way.

The most basic and simplest manicure instrument is the nail clip. Usually it is made of metal and it has two parts: the upper part that can be twisted so you can push it down, and the lower part that holds still. In the lower part you can find the blades. The blades meet in case you twist the upper part and you push it down. Usually these blades are very sharp to be able to cut the nail and this is why you should take care when you are working with it and you shouldn’t let it get close to small children.

Another simple manicure instrument is the nails file. There are several types of it. There are the simple metallic ones that we can say are quite efficient and there are the emery boards that some professionals say are even more efficient. The emery board has more ‘boards’ that are used for different purposes and you can differentiate them by color, each side having a different color.  A kind of nail file is also that ail buffer that is meant to make the nails shiny by using the oils that the nails have. You should know that the buffer should be used quite rare because if used often, it might harm the nails.

You should also know about the cuticle pushers. There are still some debates whether the cuticles should be pushed or nipped. Some manicurists say that it is better to push them because the chances are smaller to actually injure the cuticles than in case you nip them. You should push the cuticles gently with the help of a metallic cuticle pusher or an orange stick. The manicurists say that the cuticles should be nipped only in extreme cases and then you should use a cuticle nipper that has the form of a bigger scissor and that looks quite scary, but does the job efficiently.

I think these are the most basic manicure instruments that you should know about and you should also know that they are easy to purchase because you may find them at almost any grocery store and mostly they are quite cheap. Naturally there are some that are more expensive, but usually people opt for the cheaper ones because this way they can afford to change them several times not to get bored of them.
