A lot of people think that manicure is a new invention but they should know that it is not so at all. People have been interested in having nice nails for a very long time now and this is why we are able to find antique manicure sets.
I really like these because unlike the sets that can be found today that have no personality, in the past people were interested in creating something original and unique and so it is no wonder that there are so many people that like to collect such things. My personal opinion is that these sets look very nice and they represent a piece of history.

In this article I am going to present some of the antique manicure sets that I have found on the internet. The first one is a Sterling Silver set that has five pieces: scissors, nail file, cuticle trimmer and button hook. The thing I like the most at this set is that it is really detailed with flowers on the handles and it is in very good condition. If you take a close look you might see that the cuticle trimmer has been repaired but still it is very rare to find a set with so many matching pieces.
I have found another antique manicure set that raised my curiosity, because the pieces look very nice. It is a jeweled celluloid manicure set that still is in its original leather case that has a figural portrait in the front. The set still has the original label inside saying that the price is fifteen dollars and that the case is genuine leather.
I have also found an enamel guilloche that is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. The handles of the tools have a very interesting turquoise color. The set has numerous tools in it including a nail buffer, cuticle pusher, nail file, cuticle cutter, needle case, scissors, and emery board in a matching leather wrapper. The ser is in a very good condition with a few chips and some pitting, but it still looks wonderful.

The last product that I am going to tell you about is a velvet lined box that has five tools in it. Three of the tools are ornately carved and the set is said to be dating from the 1800’s. Although being so old, the set is still in a great condition. The inside of the box has silk I it, while the exterior is embossed to resemble tooled leather. Although being in great shape, the top of the box shows some signs of wear.
In case you also like such collectibles you might find these items on the internet and I have to tell you that there are many others that you might like, so make sure that you make a thorough research before making up your mind. I hope that you will find what you are looking for. This is a great gift for yourself or for somebody else.
