Women's Hairstyles

You might have observed that every period comes with its own hairstyles and we have to admit that if you wish to follow the trends you have a pretty hard job. At one moment short hair is fashionable, in the other, long hair. I don’t think that it is possible to follow the trends unless you use some tricks, like hair extensions. Every period has some signature hairstyles. I don’t think that there is one person in the world that wouldn’t recognize the soft and curly hairstyles of the 1950’s. The truth is that at this point I can’t tell which hairstyle is the most typical for our times, but I think that in a few decades we will be able to tell.

At this moment the most popular women’s hairstyles feature layers that are great to add volume to the hairstyle and also movement and texture. Adding layers to a hairstyle is a great modality to change it without having to give up the length of the hair. Even the plainest hairstyle can be spiced up with some layers.

Another great way to make hairstyles more interesting is to create bangs. Those who don’t have a large forehead and still could like to have bangs could wear them side swept. This way the bangs don’t make your forehead look smaller. Those who have larger foreheads could have fringes. The most trendy fringes are the choppy ones, because they create a blunt and in the same time, trendy image.

Before choosing a hairstyle you should considered whether the hairstyle given is right for you. The most important factor that should influence this decision is the shape of your face. There is a lot of information about this on the internet that is worth to be read before making a decision. For example those medium hairstyles that feature the end of the hair curled inwards the face aren’t advantageous for those women who have a more prominent cheekbone or jaw because this hairstyle opens them up and they will create the illusion that they are even more prominent. Actually what they do is to draw the attention to those parts of the face that should be concealed. I think now you know why is it so important to think about the shape and the structure of the face when choosing a hairstyle.

In the case of women’s hairstyles another thing that you should keep in mind is the type of hair that you have. Some styles are great for thin hair, others for thick hair. For example the short hairs usually are great for those with thin hair, because thick hair might look as you would have a puff on your head. You should also think about whether your hair is straight or curly. This matters because you will have to spend more time styling your hair if you have another type than the one the hairstyle needs and most women don’t like to spend much time in front of a mirror.
